Repertoire
Witold Rowicki was a titan of work. His repertoire was very rich and various. With great engagement he conducted the works of Baroque, Classicism and Romanticism composers but he did not neglect the contemporary music. He was very passionate for the music of the 20th century and also performed unknown or less popular works. He promoted the Polish music. Many works were performed for the first time under his baton, like the premiere performances of G. Bacewicz, T. Baird, E. Bogusławski, W. Kilar, W. Lutosławski, A. Panufnik, K. Penderecki and K. Serocki. He was an unparalleled interpreter of Karol Szymanowski’s music at the time.
